![]() The season follows a dysfunctional, blended family composed of Madison Clark ( Kim Dickens), her fiancé Travis Manawa ( Cliff Curtis), her daughter Alicia ( Alycia Debnam-Carey), her drug-addicted son Nick ( Frank Dillane) and Travis' son Chris ( Lorenzo James Henrie). The executive producers are Kirkman, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, and Dave Erickson, with Erickson as showrunner for the second consecutive season. The series is a companion series and prequel to The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. With one of them, original lead Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), finally back on the show, perhaps now is the right time to bring it to a close.įear The Walking Dead is an incredibly important part of the TWD Universe‘s legacy, so when Madison Clark’s journey comes to an end, you can bet we’ll be tuning in to pay our respects. The second season of Fear the Walking Dead, an American horror-drama television series on AMC, premiered on April 10, 2016, and concluded on October 2, 2016, consisting of fifteen episodes. In many people’s minds, Fear The Walking Dead ran its course a few seasons back when it decided to catch up to its parent show (it was originally a prequel), bring Morgan into it, and get rid of its two most interesting characters. We don’t know if The Walking Dead: Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and the Rick and Michonne spin-off are standalone miniseries or they have the potential to carry on past their first seasons, but if it’s the former, then perhaps the-powers-that-be want to end the TWD story with the Rick and Michonne series (which has now been delayed to 2024). And yet, maybe that’s why AMC is ending the show now, because it was part of a different expansion of the TWD world and not the new movement we have going on now. In a way, that makes Fear more relevant than ever, because it is the original spin-off. It’s an interesting decision given that this is the beginning of the TWD Universe era, with new spinoffs focused on TWD characters expanding the world like never before. Much like we saw with its predecessor, it seems like AMC and the creative team behind Fear just decided that now was the right time for the show to reach its natural conclusion. So, why end Fear now that it has become the flagship show of this universe? Was Fear The Walking Dead cancelled?įear The Walking Dead may stop producing episodes after its season 8 finale, but it’s important to note that the show hasn’t been cancelled. The break in between will allow Fear fans to enjoy the final season for a little longer, just as fans of The Walking Dead were able to do with its last season in 2022.įear The Walking Dead‘s conclusion may come as a shock to fans, especially since this is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the TWD Universe, with more TWD spinoffs on the way this year. The show is set to return for its eighth season (which we now know will premiere in May), which will be split into two halves like seasons 6 and 7. After saying goodbye to its parent series in November last year, AMC’s shared universe of survivors and zombies will now bid farewell to Fear The Walking Dead in the year ahead. ![]() It’s the end of another era for the TWD Universe, or at least it will be later this year. Fear The Walking Dead will conclude after season 8, making it the second of AMC’s TWD Universe shows to bow out in the space of a year.
